Who are we?
We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.
Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.
The role
You will be responsible for the management, development and retention of our relationships with Workplace Pension employers and trustees, ensuring delivery of maximum potential in terms of retention of value, increased revenue and development of wider opportunities to grow the business.
You will create and deliver strategic client plans which demonstrate an understanding of each account's objectives and maintain communication and engagement strategies to maximise profitability, whilst removing unprofitable business or inappropriate service offerings within the current portfolio using interpersonal skills to manage the business up or out in a way that maintains our reputation.
Be commercially responsible for growing effective and sustainable partnerships with key influencers and decision makers within aligned existing client companies. You will use judgement to identify and assess any risk or potential threats, internal or external, to the relationship with clients and act to mitigate these as appropriate.
What are we looking for?
Proven track record of success within a relationship management role
In-depth knowledge of Workplace Pensions (both trust and contract plans), including good awareness of leading providers and major consultancies
Knowledge of the market, legislative and industry practice to consult and lead with key clients on suitable growth developments
Excellent communicator with the ability to build excellent working relationships
Commercially driven and highly responsive – conscious of adding value and oriented towards achieving business objectives
We want to hire the whole version of you.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
