Sr. Network Engineer

Black Box is a leading technology solutions provider, and they are seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to manage and support their communications networks. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining network technologies, providing third-tier support, and ensuring network security and performance enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Ownership and responsibility for medium and high user impact network technologies
• Design, implement, maintain and support Black Box’s communications networks, including the Black Box LAN/WAN, internet access, network security, remote access, network services, and all related telecommunications hardware and software components
• Design, implement, maintain, and support secure and scalable business-to-business and external communications network between Black Box and external organizations
• Provide third-tier support working directly with vendors, service providers, end-users, and other IT personnel to isolate and resolve network hardware and network related software communications issues
• Works with manufacturers, vendors, service providers, and other organizations to provide recommendations and determine areas to research, validate and implement upgrades, enhancements, or configuration changes to ensure compatibility and enhance performance of Black Box communication networks
• Examines projects for security concerns and makes recommendations for a reasonable solution
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelors in CIS, or equivalent education and work experience
• 7-10 years of experience in supporting enterprise networks
• Ability to travel 10% of the time
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team environment
• Able to retrieve information and conduct research related to project completion and job responsibilities
• Able to think analytically
• Capable of establishing priorities and balancing multiple projects simultaneously
• Encompasses project management skills from project start to finish
• Performs work under minimal supervision
• Handles complex issues and problems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Able to build collaborative relationships
• Able to read, write and interpret various correspondence, memos and instructions
• Understanding of basic mathematical concepts, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
• Proficient in basic to intermediate computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office
• Must have current driver's license and/or passport
• Ability to work overtime as necessary
