Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated AWS DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic IT team and contribute to the design, deployment, and optimization of mission-critical AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in DevOps practices, cloud automation, and DoD security compliance to ensure the security and scalability of the enterprise-wide human resources system.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using AWS native services to support rapid and secure software delivery
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
- Ensure DoD security compliance by implementing and maintaining STIG-hardened environments, including regular security posture reviews, vulnerability assessments, and remediation actions
- Maintain system integrity through patch management, configuration baselines, and ongoing monitoring to meet DoD cybersecurity requirements
- Collaborate with security and operations teams to enforce governance policies, access control, encryption, and logging
- Optimize system performance and costs through proactive monitoring, alerting, and tuning of AWS resources
- Develop custom automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to support build, deploy, monitoring, and security hardening workflows
- Support disaster recovery planning, implement backup strategies, and test recovery scenarios for continuity of operations
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Must possess a Public Trust or Department of Defense (DOD) Clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
- Security+ CE Certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as an AWS DevOps Engineer, with exposure to Oracle-backed systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Hands-on experience applying DoD STIGs and hardening AWS infrastructure accordingly
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud security frameworks
- Experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Familiarity with DISA STIG Viewer, SCAP tools, or ACAS for security assessments
- Experience with centralized logging, SIEM tools, and incident response workflows
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
