Associates degree in Electronics, Mechanics or related field is required. Four years’ experience in the repair/rehabilitation and servicing of rail car systems, or an equivalent associated field, preferably as a Journeyman Electronic Technician and/or Mechanic. Three years of the experience requirement in Rail Car Maintenance or equivalent operation in similar rail transit property or railroad is highly desirable. In lieu of experience, a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a directly related field may substitute for two years of experience. Directly related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of educational requirement.
Supervises and coordinates the work of personnel engaged in the rehabilitation, preventive servicing, inspection, and repair of the Authority's rail cars. Performs and documents service performed according to the standards in area assigned. Monitors inventory of supplies, tools and equipment. Monitors work orders and ensures that sufficient materials are on hand to complete work efficiently. May coordinate/expedite purchase of services and equipment with vendors and assist in monitoring external contractor's quality and contractual compliance. Coordinates training and development for assigned personnel. Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business. Performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree.

Must have or obtain within 30 days a Wayside level 3 certification.
