You will join a team of active and qualified professionals in the areas of affordable housing, neighborhood economic development, small business development, food systems, and city planning. Our team is passionate about this work and making the city a more equitable place. You will contribute to our team’s mission by working in office as well as in the field.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with the Director and Project Manager to select and scope a community development project. Project ideas include:
Complete Affordable Housing Impact Statements and improve how we use them.
Update or re-imagine the Affordable Housing Resource Guide.
Contribute to data collection, improvement, and analysis using systems of record for various programs such as databases and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Research and develop recommendations for calculating affordable housing in lieu fees.
Build specification drawings with measurements and materials for downtown Kiosks.
Complete a GIS inventory of microenterprise cart locations.
Contribute to AgLanta Grown, urban agriculture, and food systems planning.
Work with local businesses in the Main Street/Living Cities programming, and in our Small Business Strategy and Support service offerings.[MJ1]
Complete projects related to neighborhood revitalization initiatives, economic development, transportation programming, and capital investment programming.
Lead the completion of your assigned project and deliverables.
Present project outcomes and findings to internal and external audiences.
Knowledge of or interest in:
community development theory and practice in the areas of affordable housing, economic development, food systems, and neighborhood change.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate and Graduate Students in the following Degree Programs
urban planning, sociology, anthropology, economics, finance, business, real estate, design, journalism, communication, marketing, engineering, agriculture, environmental science, computer science, data science, programming, social work, public health, or related fields.
