Ally and Your Career
Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?
Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the MDMA Strategy and Effectiveness Sr Director, this role will drive delivery excellence for marketing analytics initiatives by establishing Agile practices, coordinating cross-functional work, and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes. You will serve as capacity manager for multiple measurement functions, enabling efficient prioritization, workload execution, stakeholder alignment, and transparent reporting. Your work will increase the impact of Ally’s marketing measurement and attribution efforts by keeping projects on track, removing impediments, and fostering continuous improvement across all business lines.
At this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
The Work Itself
- Serve as Scrum Master for analytics squads: facilitate sprint ceremonies (planning, daily stand-ups, refinement, reviews, retrospectives), uphold Agile principles, and coach team members on best practices.
- Partner with project teams and stakeholders (LOB Leads, Digital Marketing, Technology, Marketing Research, Content & Strategy) to define clear objectives, scope, acceptance criteria, and success metrics for marketing analytics initiatives.
- Own project planning and execution: create and maintain roadmaps, sprint plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and resource plans across concurrent projects.
- Drive backlog management: ensure well-groomed epics/stories, prioritize work based on business value, and maintain alignment with strategic goals and KPI frameworks.
- Remove impediments: proactively identify and resolve blockers, coordinate with data owners and technology teams, and escalate risks with mitigation plans.
- Standardize processes and documentation: establish templates, playbooks, and operating rhythms for measurement plans, attribution analyses, KPI reporting, and cross-team handoffs.
- Improve delivery performance: track and report Agile and project health metrics (velocity, burn-down, cycle time, on-time delivery, stakeholder satisfaction) and lead retrospectives to implement actionable improvements.
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies: align campaign timelines, data availability, and analytics deliverables across online/offline channels and platforms.
- Ensure transparent communication: prepare and present status updates, timelines, and dashboards to leadership and partners; maintain project artifacts and decision logs.
- Support change management: enable teams to adopt new tools, workflows, and governance for measurement and attribution; provide training and onboarding as needed.
