Position Summary
As the HR leader for the Salt Lake City operations, this role partners with Managers and Employees on organizational and employee matters, as well as coaching, HR process expertise and other general HR activities. The HR Manager will have responsibilities across many disciplines in HR and will work on multiple projects that vary in scale and complexity.
In addition, the incumbent will perform duties to ensure the day to day functioning of the HR department are done in a manner to ensure all government regulations, corporate policies, procedures, and practices are followed in the most effective manner possible. This position is responsible for the administration of employee benefits, new hire orientation/on-boarding, compliance, policy development, internal and external reporting, and will support the administration of our learning system.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Viewed as a strategic business partner, change agent, and member of the management team.
- Regularly advises management in the function and/or in the business
- Implements corporate policy at the business unit or division level. (Salt Lake City)
- Understands, follows and enforces all established policies, procedures and recognized practices
- Facilitates organization and leadership development efforts, working with employees and managers to address root causes of employee relations issues
- Resolves employee relations issues through a systematic approach
- Assists management in the development of solutions through cultural and process perspective organizational development
- Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, workforce planning, and organizational change)
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Focus on strategic partnership, consultative skills with leaders, collaborates with other HR members for execution

- Comfortable with high volume workload and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Analytical approach to projects and problem solving; strong project management skills

- Ability to manage multiple priorities; complete deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Strong internal and external customer service focus, with a genuine desire to assist others
- Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience to effectively deliver a variety of HR-related training programs to groups of managers / colleagues
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented (especially with regard to effectively managing and documenting employee relations issues and investigations)
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
Education and Experience
- Must be 18 years of age
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's Degree preferred but not required
- 10+ years of experience required to include:
- A minimum of 4 years of managerial experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Work may be performed in a clean room environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds
- Typically requires travel less than 25% of the time
