Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay: $19 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM until 4 AM. Overtime sometimes available on Fridays and Saturdays
What You’ll Do
As a Bag Machine (Tuber) Assistant, you’ll support the machine operator and production team to keep equipment running efficiently and safely. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with machine setup by preparing tools, loading materials, and adjusting machine settings as directed by the primary operator
- Supplying raw materials and components to the bag machine to maintain steady production flow
- Monitoring machine operations and alerting the operator or supervisor to any performance issues or malfunctions
- Assisting with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating equipment, and replacing minor components
- Performing minor adjustments or troubleshooting under the guidance of the operator or maintenance team
- Filling in temporarily on machine operation during shift transitions or when needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area by removing waste materials and keeping production areas orderly
- Following all safety procedures and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Completing production logs and documentation related to output, machine downtime, or maintenance activities
- Collaborating with maintenance, quality, material handling, inventory, and other production team members to support operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- No experience required; 1–2 years of manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning production equipment operation
- Ability to follow instructions and production specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organization and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and a positive, proactive attitude
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work primarily in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Exposure to moving machinery, production noise, airborne dust, and varying temperatures may occur
- Required PPE may include hearing protection, safety shoes, and eye protection
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials or operate equipment
- May need to access equipment, stairs, or machinery during setup or operation
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
