Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Pay: $24 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM until 4 AM. Overtime sometimes available on Fridays and Saturdays
What You’ll Do
As a Bag Machine (Tuber) Operator, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining bag manufacturing equipment while ensuring production, quality, and safety standards are met. Key responsibilities include:
- Safely setting up, operating, and monitoring bag machinery to meet production schedules and customer requirements
- Preparing machines for production runs by loading materials, adjusting machine settings, and calibrating equipment
- Monitoring production processes and inspecting materials and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Tracking and verifying materials to maintain accurate inventory and work-in-progress records
- Troubleshooting machine issues and performing routine maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently
- Training and supporting machine assistants and new team members as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment around machinery and production areas
- Completing required production documentation accurately and on time
- Collaborating with technicians, supervisors, and quality teams to resolve issues and maintain workflow
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–4 years of experience operating manufacturing or production equipment preferred
- Experience in bag converting, packaging, or flexible packaging manufacturing is a plus
- Ability to read and follow work instructions and production specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production equipment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong organization and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when resolving routine issues
- Positive attitude and reliability
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Required PPE may include hearing protection, safety shoes, and eye protection
- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently use hands and arms to operate equipment and handle materials
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed
- May need to climb stairs or access machinery during setup and operation
