Job Description
Role Overview – Technical Application Specialist (Modern Workplace Technology)
As a Technical Application Specialist within the Modern Workplace Technology function in Hyderabad, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. This includes Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio.
You will collaborate closely with UK-based peers as part of a unified feature team, ensuring consistent quality, communication, and delivery across both the UK and Indian hub locations.
This role also includes responsibilities within the Smart Automation Lab, supporting critical applications and ensuring platform stability.
Work Location : Hyderabad.
Experience : 6 - 14 years
Mode of Work : Hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor platform and application health, taking early action to prevent service disruptions.
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks and provide clear reporting on the status of key regulatory applications.
- Provide professional, timely, and empathetic assistance in response to colleague incidents.
- Drive comprehensive root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
- Support manual and semi‑automated request fulfilment activities.
- Plan, raise, and implement changes across the application lifecycle from development to live environments.
- Serve as an escalation point for issues in the Hyderabad LTC office, working in partnership with UK colleagues for feature‑related escalations.
Requirements (Grade E Level)
- Must be based in the Hyderabad office, five days a week, working alternating shift patterns between 01:00–10:30 and 07:30–17:00 BST/GMT.
- 6 to 14 years of professional experience in client-facing IT support, development, or application specialist roles.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyse issues and determine effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to stakeholders at varying levels.
- Ability to prioritise, coordinate, and deliver work within established timelines.
- Capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively within distributed teams.
- Proficiency in addressing a wide range of IT incidents and change requests across multiple communication channels.
Additional Grade E Expectations
- Act as a coaching role model, supporting leadership in guiding and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex development and platform issues.
- Demonstrate deep, hands-on experience across the Microsoft Power Platform suite.
Technical Skills & Tooling
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- Power BI
- Dataverse
- Copilot Studio
- Experience implementing solutions that support operational teams and automation initiatives.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA for tracking and delivery workflows.
- Experience supporting or using Apple MacBooks.
- Exposure to follow-the-sun operational support models.
