Role Summary:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Senior Internal Communications Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and delivering engaging internal communications that strengthen colleague engagement and support business priorities across the organisation.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on execution — crafting clear and compelling messages that align with company culture, values, and objectives, while ensuring colleagues are informed, engaged, and connected.
Main responsibilities:
- Be the driving force behind communications planning and delivery:
- Shape and drive the content roadmap, proactively identifying opportunities, setting direction, and overseeing execution rather than responding reactively to requests.
- Take accountability for content effectiveness, using insight and feedback to continuously refine messaging.
- Play a key role in shaping and delivering Aptia’s external employer brand in partnership with Marketing and People teams.
- Help develop stories and messaging that attract talent across digital and social channels.
- Draft and oversee communication materials, including newsletters, intranet content, emails, presentations, leadership messaging, video briefs, and social media posts, tailored for internal audiences.
- Ensure that all internal communication reflects the company’s tone, culture, and strategic goals, including key announcements developed in partnership with leadership.
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s intranet site with relevant and timely information, ensuring content is user-friendly and visually appealing.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to design and implement internal communication campaigns for initiatives such as employee engagement, company updates, HR announcements, and change management.
- Content Calendar & Planning:
- Manage and evolve a content calendar for internal communications, ensuring a structured and consistent flow of information.
- Track engagement metrics, gather employee feedback on communication effectiveness, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve internal communication strategies and content.
- Work closely with People Team colleagues, leadership, and various teams to ensure communication efforts support broader company goals and initiatives.
Required skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong ability to create compelling and clear messaging for diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders.
- Ability to translate complex business information into simple and engaging communication.
- Proficient in using digital tools for content creation.
- Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., SharePoint).
- Experience supporting leadership communications and change initiatives is preferred.
Personal attributes:
- Comfortable taking initiative and owning outcomes.
- Energised by working in a growing environment where direction can evolve.
- Confident engaging with stakeholders and contributing ideas.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused.
- Motivated by the opportunity to build, shape, and influence.
