Porton Pharma Solutions Ltd. is a leading pharmaceutical CDMO company that provides global pharmaceutical companies with innovative, reliable, and end-to-end process R&D and manufacturing services. They are seeking a VP of Business Development to manage and grow relationships with major pharmaceutical companies, focusing on understanding client needs and driving revenue growth through strategic account management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture long-term, high-value relationships with key clients, understanding their business objectives, needs, and challenges
- Serve as a trusted advisor and main point of contact for all their requirements, manage multiple aspects of relationships with existing clients including pricing, contract amendments, budgeting, forecasting and other customer service-related issues
- Conduct thorough account analysis to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic account plans. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align strategies and effectively deliver solutions that meet client needs
- Achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth by identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities within assigned accounts
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as R&D, marketing, operations, and commercial manufacturing to ensure seamless execution of client projects
- Negotiate terms, conditions, promotional and pricing strategies with clients. Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations
- Maintain regular communication with key clients to provide updates on products, services, and industry trends
- Prepare for and lead client calls and visits, proactively anticipate barriers and present solutions
- Attend key trade shows and conferences to and represent Porton brand and CDMO capabilities
Requirements:
- Experience in business development within the small molecule field of CDMO/Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies
- Familiarity with the CMC process
- General knowledge of API
- Bachelor, Master, MBA, or PhD degree in Chemistry
- At least 5-10 years of field sales or business development experience in the CDMO industry
- Customer dedication to relentlessly seek and distill solutions from complexity
- Good knowledge of the CMC and clinical drug development process
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Mindful listener and communicator (written and oral)
- Ideally has an existing customer network, positive relationships, and knowledge of agreement execution from a previous CDMO business development role
- Has sold related products or services to learn a variety of approaches when selling to big pharma
- Proficiency with CRM or customer relationship management tools
- Formal training in a consultative or solution-based sales methodology is a plus
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about products or services to outsiders, including prospective customers and clients, partners, and vendors
