Design Citizen is a human-centered talent management firm that partners with organizations to create innovative business solutions through design. They are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead end-to-end design work across core product areas, focusing on translating complex technical concepts into user-friendly workflows and collaborating with engineers in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Leading end-to-end design work across core product areas, from problem definition to polished execution
- Designing complex, multi-layered product surfaces such as configuration panels, experiment setup flows, permissions, and data-rich dashboards
- Working in a squad model alongside engineers and often a data scientist, helping teams align on requirements and move forward in a PM-light environment
- Translating technical concepts, state logic, and system behavior into workflows that feel understandable and usable
- Making fast, pragmatic UX decisions that balance ideal experience with engineering realities
- Contributing to patterns and interaction models that support consistency across a complex, evolving UI
- Evolving the design system and component library in Figma while collaborating with engineering on how components translate into shipped UI
- Presenting work clearly and practically, focusing on reasoning, tradeoffs, and how decisions support user goals
Requirements:
- 6+ years of product design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates strength in complex, technical, or layered UI, not just consumer or mobile work
- Experience designing for developer tools, data-heavy B2B platforms, admin systems, or other highly configurable products
- Ability to work quickly in ambiguous, engineering-driven environments where requirements evolve through conversation
- Comfort collaborating with engineers who move fast and expect clarity, not perfection
- Evidence of 0→1 product ownership, not just refinement of existing features
- Strong interaction design skills with the ability to break down complexity into clear, learnable workflows
- Systems thinking that supports product delivery—patterns, consistency, and component logic—without being systems-only
- High autonomy, strong communication, and good instincts about when to go deep versus when to ship and iterate
- Experience working with state logic, permissions, configuration-heavy workflows, or multi-step technical flows is a strong plus
