Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a UX/UI Designer to enhance user experiences through design. The role involves collaborating with teams to create intuitive digital experiences, conducting user research, and advocating for design-centered improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the product manager on your team to understand your clients’ vision and their users’ needs
- Build skills in designing large-scale digital experiences that are as intuitive as they are aesthetically pleasing
- Be involved with the full spectrum of the digital creative process, including user research, information architecture, wireframing, rapid prototyping, interface design, and front-end development
- Advocate for the prioritizations of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements, all the while keeping the end-user at the center of your work
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in front‑end development supporting UX/UI design efforts
- Experience with modern JavaScript framework such as React, Vue, or Angular and front‑end testing frameworks like Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
- Experience using modern styling frameworks such as Material UI, Tailwind, React Bootstrap, or Bulma
- Experience performing UI build processes, including bundling, minification, and packaging for deployment such as Webpack, Vite, or Rollup
- Experience conducting user experience testing, gathering user feedback, evaluating usability, and iterating on workflows to improve intuitiveness
- Experience developing wireframes, interactive prototypes, or proofs-of-concept to validate design direction
- Knowledge of CSS preprocessors like SASS and LESS
- Knowledge of configuring or deploying front‑end applications to web servers such as NGINX, Apache, and Node‑based servers
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- Experience integrating UI components with REST APIs, GraphQL services, or backend microservices
- Experience in responsive design, mobile‑first development, or cross‑browser compatibility testing
- Experience documenting UI components or contributing to shared component libraries
- Knowledge of design systems, component libraries, or design tokens
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and conducting front-end sprint reviews with users
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, such as Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and related design practices
- Ability to create high-fidelity prototypes for stakeholder demos or usability studies
