Technical Program Management (L6), Privacy & Data Protection Engineering

Netflix is a company dedicated to entertaining the world, and they are seeking a Technical Program Manager to join their Data Protection program. This role involves partnering with engineering and product teams to reduce data risks and ensure regulatory compliance while fostering a responsible data culture.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with the Privacy and Data Protection Engineering team to reduce data risks, ensure regulatory compliance and foster a responsible data culture across Netflix
• Identify, develop and drive the development and adoption of various data management capabilities across multiple data platforms
• Navigate through complex technical and operational challenges in capability development and adoption across areas such as data inventory and classification, access control, retention, encryption, de-identification and many more

Requirements:

• Prior expertise in privacy and data protection
• Experience working with privacy and security engineers
• Ability to identify, develop and drive the development and adoption of various data management capabilities
• Experience navigating through complex technical and operational challenges
• Familiarity with data inventory and classification, access control, retention, encryption, de-identification
• Skilled at both program strategy and execution
• Strong technical domain expertise in privacy and data protection
• Background in software or data engineering or deep technical expertise on data management systems and solutions at scale
• Ability to innovate and solve challenging problems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to articulate business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience
• Ability to triage multiple initiatives and make judgments on tackling the right problems
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-paced environments
• Familiarity with technical Data Protection or Governance programs
• Experience driving large-scale technical initiatives on shared infrastructure platforms
• Experience managing the definition of technical strategies
