ERG is a research and consulting firm that provides a wide range of support to federal, state, and commercial clients. In this role, you will lead and support a range of water infrastructure projects, working directly with communities to assess needs, develop solutions, and secure funding for critical projects.
Responsibilities:
- Independently assess community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identify practical, cost-effective solutions
- Develop clear, well-organized planning documents and technical reports, including Preliminary Engineering Reports (PERs)
- Prepare preliminary and detailed project designs that municipalities can use to secure infrastructure funding
- Lead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and foster project support and engagement
- Depending on your experience and expertise, contribute to additional project areas, such as evaluating and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, analyzing the design, cost, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects, or supporting other related technical initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, or the ability and commitment to obtain a PE license within 12 months of hire
- 5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design, with exposure to a variety of treatment systems; experience with funding, financing, and governance frameworks for Capital Improvement Programs is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support community projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse stakeholders
