Security Engineer

BlockchainUnmasked is working to make crypto crime solvable by streamlining cryptocurrency forensic investigations through advanced automation. They are seeking a skilled Security Engineer to help protect their platform, data, and customers while strengthening their overall security posture.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement security controls across cloud infrastructure, applications, and data systems
• Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks through threat modeling, reviews, and testing
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities
• Conduct application security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security best practices into development workflows (SDLC)
• Secure APIs, data ingestion pipelines, and real-time analytics systems handling sensitive investigative data
• Support compliance and audit efforts (e.g., SOC 2, customer security reviews)
• Develop internal security tooling, documentation, and runbooks
• Respond to and help remediate security incidents and emerging threats

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in security engineering, application security, or infrastructure security
• Strong understanding of cloud security fundamentals (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Experience securing web applications, APIs, and distributed systems
• Knowledge of common vulnerabilities and frameworks (OWASP Top 10, threat modeling)
• Experience with security monitoring, logging, and incident response
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product teams, and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in fintech, crypto, Web3, or blockchain-related environments
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and DevSecOps practices
• Knowledge of cryptography, key management, and secure data handling
• Prior exposure to adversarial or investigative environments (fraud, forensics, law enforcement support)
