OPAQUE Systems is a Confidential AI company focused on solving security concerns about data leaks and compliance violations. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure to design, build, and scale systems that power their Confidential AI platform, ensuring reliability, security, and developer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
- Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines that improve developer velocity and confidence, balancing speed with safety
- Operate and improve Kubernetes-based systems, bridging application and infrastructure to ensure reliability at scale
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortems, driving improvements in availability and recovery
- Lead observability efforts — defining metrics, building dashboards, and making system health visible and actionable
- Drive cost awareness and optimization across environments
- Build internal tools and automation that make developers more productive and happy
- Collaborate across teams, proactively surfacing issues and opportunities before they become blockers
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of industry experience building and operating production infrastructure
- Led complex, cross-functional projects or acted as a technical lead
- Known for taking ownership, driving projects end to end with a bias for action
- Curious and self-directed, eager to dive into unfamiliar systems or learn new technologies
- Communicate clearly, precisely, and proactively, aligning technical direction with stakeholder needs
- Care deeply about reliability, scalability, and developer experience
- Fluent in at least one language such as Python, Go, Rust, or Java
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Azure, GCP, or AWS, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloudformation, Pulumi, etc.)
- Experience with security or compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar)
- Experience in early-stage startups or hyper-growth environments
- A background in security, privacy, or confidential computing
- Contributions to open source or community-driven infrastructure projects
