General Statement of Duties:
Our Medical Records Clerk is responsible for electronic health record audits. The Medical Records Clerk will adhere to deadlines and complete tasks with a high degree of detail and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions:
- Audit EHR admission documentation, discharge documentation, assessments, and administration records for completion.
- Coach team members through corrections and follow up for compliance.
- Update EHR with orders and tracking.
- Maintains and controls the release of medical records to authorized persons, as directed by the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director.
- Performs related tasks, as requested by the Director of Nursing and/or Executive Director.
- Contact doctor's offices and hospitals for patient records.
- Notify nurses and providers via secure messaging through PCC with medical records are scanned into a resident's clinical chart.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work space.
- Prepare folders with resident information for provider appointments and receive paperwork from providers to scan into clinical software.
Job Qualifications:
- Medical Record experience preferred.
- Prior experience in senior-living preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Competence with Microsoft Office and enterprise level electronic health record applications.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability work independently and part of a team.
