Newtek One is a financial holding company providing a range of business and financial solutions to the SMB market. The Commercial Lines Specialist II will manage renewal business, create new business, and service existing clients, requiring strong organization and client relationship management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the assigned book of renewal business and create new business to drive revenue growth and sales
- Obtain underwriting information, prepare applications and specifications for renewal and new business submissions
- Qualify and analyze client's coverage needs, loss exposure, recommend coverage
- Enhance the client experience and build relationships by presenting a professional image as you represent the company while being camera ready in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Inform clients about policy inclusions, limitations, and changes
- Secure all placement subjectivities by obtaining signed documentation and collecting payment
- Provide renewal quotes and account rounding opportunities, communicate coverage terms and conditions of quotes to client
- Engage in daily virtual client interaction through impactful communication across phone, webinars, emails, PowerPoint, etc
- Educate and consult prospects on coverages that are available and appropriate for their business
- Review existing policies and endorsements, request changes to the renewal underwriter for processing
- Prepare schedules of insurance, D. cards, binders, certificates of insurance, issue finance agreements
- Return phone calls and respond to e-mails in a timely Follow up on policy audits related to worker's compensation, general liability, etc
- Maintain accounts in Client Portal (Insurlink), set status to active/inactive and send invites to access portal to client. Update team members via email, etc
- Maintain contact with the client base throughout the year per frequency set by management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 of customer service in the insurance industry preferred
- Valid Property and Casualty License (P&C) and provide copy for file
- Ability to read policies and break down coverage
- Comfortable with being on video camera while engaging with clients, attending company/department meetings, etc. as required
- Possess a sense of urgency and ownership when dealing with clients and prospects of Newtek
- Ability to actively listen, give full attention to what other people are saying, taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Attention to accuracy and detail in processing information
- Ability to differentiate between agency bill clients and direct bill clients and the servicing needs of both
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and act with a sense of urgency
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Excellent time management, planning and organization skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong work ethic
- Flexible to work within the designated work schedule as business needs change (i.e., late night, weekends, holidays, etc.)
- Strong data entry skills with accuracy and ability to navigate among multiple systems
- Proficient in Windows based computer applications (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word and Outlook) and internal systems such as NewTracker, Pipeline Manager, Benefit Point, ImageRight
- A minimum of 3 of customer service in the insurance industry
- An understanding of the appropriate markets and their relative business model a plus
- Good knowledge of company products and solutions a plus
- Knowledge of how to use Agency Management System, experience with AMS360 a plus
