IT System Engineer

The Information Technology Systems Engineer at CoxHealth is responsible for designing, testing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex IT systems solutions that support healthcare delivery and administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement IT systems solutions tailored to organizational needs, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations
• Test and validate new systems and updates to ensure compatibility and performance standards are met before deployment
• Manage the deployment process, coordinating with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth implementation
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues promptly, minimizing system downtime and maintaining operational continuity
• Create and update standard operating procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge-based articles to support team efficiency and knowledge sharing
• Participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes, providing insights into technology trends and potential improvements
• Manage vendor relationships, monitor performance, and ensure deliverables meet organizational standards and timelines
• Identify project risks and issues during planning and execution phases, developing mitigation strategies to address potential challenges
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to understand their technology needs and deliver solutions that enhance workflow and patient care
• Maintain compliance with healthcare data security standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring systems are secure and protected against threats

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT systems engineering, with a focus on implementation engineering within complex organizational environments
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong vendor management capabilities
• Demonstrate independent judgment

• Ensure that all systems are optimized for performance and security
• Advanced certifications and additional training
• ITIL certification, which demonstrates a strong understanding of IT service management best practices
