
Position Summary: The Cook plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of our deli department. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including ensuring department readiness, managing inventory, adhering to food safety guidelines, and maintaining equipment and cleanliness standards. You will be instrumental in producing high-quality food items, managing inventory processes, and upholding safety and quality standards to meet the department's financial goals and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities: (Responsibilities may vary depending on assignment.)
· Provide outstanding customer service.
· Answers phones and takes phone orders correctly.
· Assist customers at both bakery and deli service counters.
· Plan steam table menu and ensure breakfast & lunch are available to customers at set time.
· Keep counters, glass, cases, and work areas clean and neat.
· Maintains excellent personal hygiene habits.
· Stocks sales floor area, deli cases, and supply areas.
· Follows all safety and security procedures.
· Puts away & keeps supplies and products stored neatly in proper place when delivers come in.
· Operate small kitchen appliances, ovens, proofers, and warmers.
· Takes out trash and disposes of cardboard.
· Performs daily cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping.
· Opens and closes department without supervision.
· May occasionally operate meat and cheese slicer along with serving customers at the deli steam table.
· May assist on front-end with cashier and carryout duties as needed.
· Any other responsibilities as assigned by manager.

· Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment preferred, but not required.
· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Minimum age requirement = 18 years old.
