Platform Engineer (Data, DevOps, Security)

D24 Search is a seed funded VC backed startup focusing on end to end AI solutions for heavy industry and manufacturing sectors. They are seeking a Platform Backend Engineer to own the data layer, requiring expertise in data engineering, DevOps, and security to build production-grade data pipelines and critical systems from scratch.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and own the data pipeline from edge sensors through ingestion, transformation, and delivery into analytics and AI workloads
• Take ownership of all DevOps, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration, and both cloud and edge deployment
• Work closely with ML engineers, full-stack engineers, and product leads to build a category-defining industrial operating system
• Implement and manage security across the entire stack, including hardening, access control, secrets management, and compliance
• Lead the development of ETL tooling with versioning, orchestration, and data quality enforcement
• Build and maintain high-fidelity, real-time streaming infrastructure to meet latency guarantees set by operational physics

Requirements:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with data engineering, DevOps, and security
• Deep data engineering experience, building data pipelines as distributed systems
• Strong DevOps skills, with a focus on edge deployment and cloud GPU provisioning, or extensive infra security experience
• Extensive knowledge of streaming data processing
• Extensive knowledge of edge computing (not just cloud)
• Experience working with sensor (e.g., Lidar) or telemetry data
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts
• Experience at a VC-backed startup (strong preference)
• Experience at a reputable company (e.g., Apple, Palantir)
• Experience in heavy industries with physical products (e.g., manufacturing, logistics)
• Bonus points if you've founded your own company or scaled a startup before
