Nova Credit is on a mission to power financial inclusion globally, building a unified platform for credit and financial data. They are seeking a QA Engineer to own end-to-end testing processes and drive quality assurance for new software and analytical product features, focusing on reducing cycle time through test automation and managing pre-launch testing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test plans, including functional, integration, and regression testing, balancing comprehensive coverage with speed and reliability
- Drive quality assurance process for new feature launches (for both software and analytical product) through both pre-launch and post-launch activities to minimize defects and drive customer outcomes
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts with Customer Support, Consumer Operations and Engineering to resolve complex technical issues and architect solutions
- Own and optimize QA metrics and reporting frameworks to enhance developer experience and product outcomes
- Identify opportunities to proactively mitigate quality issues before they escalate
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Nova Credit's products, business model, customer segments, technical architecture, and existing testing and QA systems
- Become proficient with our existing testing and QA systems, as well as advanced troubleshooting methodologies
- Identify and implement 1-2 quick win improvements to existing testing process demonstrating immediate measurable impact in quality and speed of delivery
- Demonstrated value of the QA function through measurable improvement in our key metrics: reduced PR cycle time and change failure rate by implementing best practices within Nova’s testing frameworks
- Identified and begun implementing adjustments to Nova’s quality assurance process for new feature launches, with a clear direction on which improvements will drive greater speed and success in the next 12 months
- Help shape engineering initiative prioritization within roadmaps by effectively advocating for platform-wide testing hardening efforts
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in QA engineering, test engineering, or related software engineering roles
- Strong proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Mixpanel, etc.) and log analysis and monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, etc.)
- Strong automation mindset - you're excited about reducing manual testing and building frameworks that shift testing to the left and that engineers can use independently
- Proven track record of driving effective QA processes improvements to achieve both pre-production and post-production excellence
- Experience owning and optimizing QA metrics and reporting to demonstrate QA function achievements
- Advanced troubleshooting abilities and the capacity to identify and triage ambiguous technical issues in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to various audiences
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to deliver results in a contract-to-hire structure
- Experience in SaaS, FinTech, or similar environments
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Mixpanel, etc.) and log analysis and monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, etc.)
