The Opportunity

The Senior Director of Data & AI is a cross-functional leader who integrates Consumer Banking objectives with enterprise data and AI strategies. This leader will be responsible for the vision and expansion of our data platforms, and establishing governance standards and resilient data architecture needed to accelerate business outcomes. Beyond platform oversight, they will help drive AI enablement by partnering with enterprise teams to deploy practical AI solutions that align with our risk and compliance framework. They are expected to define success through clear metrics, manage complex cross functional dependencies, and communicate effectively to executive leaders. Ultimately, this leader is expected to cultivate a high performing engineering culture that prioritizes technical excellence and innovation.
The Work Itself
- Serve as subject matter expert for Consumer Banking data and AI platforms.
- Lead the platform roadmap for data and AI; oversee configuration, implementation, and optimization of data engineering solutions to meet priority business use-cases.
- Establish and enforce rigorous data reliability, security, backup, and resilience strategies.
- Create technical documentation and low level design to ensure effective operations/support of the infrastructure solution.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics teams, IT, and vendors to select appropriate solutions, integration patterns, and configurations that accelerate delivery of business value.
- Manage documentation and design artifacts (reference architectures, data lineage, configuration files, etc) to ensure effective operations, supportability, and knowledge transfer across the organization.
- Define and communicate metrics for platform health, data quality, delivery throughput, and value realization
- Comply with Change Management, Release Management, IT Risk & Compliance processes and standards
- Build and develop a high‑performing data engineering organization; mentor leaders, elevate engineering maturity, and drive continuous improvement in process.
The Skills You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
12+ years of relevant experience Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- 12+ years of professional experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar fields Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analysis, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline
- Experience developing AWS tools, AI/ML framework, data governance platforms, cloud platforms, enterprise BI, SQL/Python/R languages
- Effective and professional oral and written communication skills; ability to translate detailed technical problems/solutions into easy to understand business terms
- Proven track record of providing thought leadership in the technology area -- and applying technology to solve business problems
- Experience leading high performing team, including managing managers
- Excellent problem-solving skills; Ability to ask the right questions and effectively diagnose the root cause of technical issues
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization; Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Collaborative and team focused; Eagerness to learn

Base Pay Range: $170000 - $300000 USDAn individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
