HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Act as primary Texas Air Monitoring Information System (TAMIS) Administrator; plan, organize, and coordinate data collection, storage, reporting, and display development and process activities for ambient air quality monitoring; perform moderately complex technical work evaluating, analyzing, summarizing, verifying, and reporting ambient air monitoring information.
Develop, improve, document, and apply techniques, procedures, and processes related to the retrieval, storage, and display of air quality monitoring data. Consult with internal and external customers to identify user needs to design agency reports and develop ad hoc/canned report queries.
Plan, coordinate, and review the development and maintenance of system documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for TAMIS Application Administration and other related projects to ensure quality assurance and quality control activities meet division, agency, state and EPA regulations.
Develop and maintain knowledge of federal and state air monitoring data requirements; assess the potential impact to data systems of federal and state air monitoring regulations; identify, research, and verify data discrepancies between data systems.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university with a major in engineering, basic science, mathematics, environmental science, computer science, or a related field.
Experience troubleshooting, developing and/or modifying SQL-based databases and/or user interfaces.
Experience investigating and/or resolving discrepancies in complex data.
Experience evaluating, analyzing, summarizing and/or communicating technical information (i.e., reviewing technical information, giving technical presentations, teaching, etc.)
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Four years of full-time experience in data analysis, data research, data compilation; and/or reporting work.
OR
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, basic science, computer science, environmental science, mathematics, statistics or a related field; plus two years of the required experience.
OR
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; plus, three years of the required experience.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the Air Monitoring Division.
