We're looking for a rare, highly specialized tax professional to build and lead our tax function from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape tax strategy across multiple jurisdictions in an exciting, fast-growing industry — working alongside some of the best people in the world.
This role sits at the intersection of tax law, business strategy, and financial operations. You won't just be a tax technician — you'll be a business partner who balances tax risk with commercial reality, and finds creative ways to align tax incentives with our forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting.
Tax Strategy & Structuring
Lead tax structuring from a legal entity perspective across US and UK operations
Drive and manage external advisors on complex structuring projects
Lobby for and pursue tax incentives at the state level
Identify and execute real tax savings opportunities without overengineering structures
Indirect Tax
Lead our sales tax and VAT compliance function
Perform sales tax/VAT analysis across relevant jurisdictions
Tax Provision & Forecasting
Lead tax provision and tax forecasting for US and international entities
Integrate tax planning with financial forecasting and accounting operations
Payroll & Withholding Tax
Work with advisors to ensure payroll tax compliance
Review and improve withholding tax methodology for US state and UK payroll and benefits
Team & Process Building
Build the tax team and processes from scratch, in the way you think is best
Drive restructuring projects with external tax and legal advisors
Deep expertise in US and UK tax law, with experience across both direct and indirect tax
Proven ability to navigate multi-jurisdictional tax structuring from a legal entity perspective
Experience leading or managing tax provision processes under US GAAP
Track record of engaging with state-level tax authorities or lobbying for tax incentives
Strong commercial mindset — you think like a business person who happens to be a tax expert
Ability to manage and drive external advisors to outcomes
Active CPA required; JD preferred

The base salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.
