About this role
Abnormal AI is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer II to join their innovative team in the Messaging Security Products division. This role focuses on enhancing core offerings in Email Security and threat visibility, requiring a strong background in full-stack development to build and maintain comprehensive products.
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute software projects that are crucial to Abnormal’s success, in collaboration with a team of engineers, through conception, design, implementation, launch, and operation
- Provide guidance and mentorship for junior members of the team
- Collaborate with Technical Program Managers, Product Managers, and GTM teams to implement, verify, and iterate on issues and requests from our customers
- Raise the standard of excellence in engineering by actively sharing knowledge within the team and engaging in professional development activities
- Hit the ground running by contributing to the team's work within the first two weeks
Requirements:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or other related engineering field
- 3+ years of industry experience designing & building fullstack software applications
- Expert in React, Redux, JS/Typescript
- Intermediate+ Python and/or Go skills
- Experience building features & components from scratch and operating them, balancing feature development work with operational tasks
- Open to following pre-established guidelines, coding practices, and conventions
- Experience working with distributed teams, proficient in asynchronous and written communication
- You're growth-driven & looking to increase impact & responsibility over time
- You're able to leverage AI Developer tools such as Copilot, Claude, or Cursor in your daily workflow
- Familiarity with our stack: AWS, K8s, Django, Postgres/MySQL, Prometheus
- Familiarity with AWS services and deployment practices
- Experience working with LLM-powered tools and AI assistants
- Knowledge of containerization
- Experience with distributed systems
