R&D Mechanical Engineer

SharkNinja is a global product design and technology company focused on creating innovative lifestyle solutions. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of new products, working collaboratively with teams in their Boston Headquarters and internationally.

Responsibilities:

• Delivers design studies (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues found in the development of a product
• Communicate ideas quickly and effectively using a combination of sketching, CAD layouts, 3D models and working prototypes to evaluate potential solutions
• Takes direction on designs through conception, CAD execution, prototyping and verification, whilst consistently working at pace
• Applies sound engineering standards to deliver real solutions
• Communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues
• Supports other team members and encourages their efforts
• Collaborates seamlessly with our UK and China based Product Development teams to ensure that great ideas make it through

Requirements:

• Degree level technical qualification, ideally Mechanical Engineering, Product or Industrial Design Engineering
• Typically, 1-3 years proven experience in Mechanical/ Product Design/ Industrial Design environment
• Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space desirable
• Experience in plastic manufacturing processes desirable
• Experience of delivering real world products to market
• Uses Solidworks or Creo to a proficient level
• Identify, solve, implement and verify technical solutions autonomously as part of a team
• Can operate (with training) in the lab; building of prototypes, product testing in the lab, developing and reporting
• Flexible and collaborative - these are key to success at SharkNinja
• Positive attitude with an entrepreneurial nature
• Appreciation for electrical engineering, software and UX design helpful but not essential
