Intern, Electrical Engineering

New York Air Brake, a member of the Knorr-Bremse Group, is a leader in the heavy-haul railroad industry. They are offering a co-op program for students in their junior or senior year of study in Electrical Engineering, providing hands-on experience in improving locomotive and freight car braking systems.

Responsibilities:

• Assist engineers with appropriate design details
• Design Analysis
• Calculations
• Simulations
• Further research and development of existing products and technologies
• Support product development
• Construction of Engineering Prototypes
• Engineering Development Testing
• Developing test infrastructure
• Performing tests
• Analyzing Data
• Documenting results
• Collaborate with production teams to reduce cost and improve product quality

Requirements:

• Co-op opportunity for Electrical, Electrical Engineering Technology, or technical majors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Understands basic instrumentation, including Data Acquisition
• Understands basic electrical engineering skills, use of tools, etc
• Flexibility to work across multiple disciplines
• Strong communication, and teamwork
• Capable of technical writing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point
