Fierceli Inc is a company focused on providing professional services in platform engineering. They are seeking a Principal Platform Engineering Architect to lead technical consulting engagements, drive platform engineering and DevOps transformation initiatives, and collaborate with various teams to modernize infrastructure and automate delivery pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead technical discovery sessions with customers to understand platform engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure automation requirements
- Design scalable platform architectures supporting CI/CD, containerization, and cloud-native workloads
- Develop solution presentations, technical proposals, and effort estimates for services engagements
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers throughout consulting engagements
- Partner with sales and practice leadership to support pre-sales opportunities and technical solution development
- Lead proof-of-concepts and demonstrations showcasing automation, DevOps pipelines, and modern platform capabilities
- Assist with solution sizing, bill of materials, and services scoping
- Provide architecture oversight across professional services engagements
- Contribute hands-on when needed to ensure successful project outcomes
- Guide customers through platform engineering transformations , automation adoption, and cloud modernization initiatives
- Mentor engineers and consultants within the platform engineering practice
- Contribute to practice strategy, service offerings, and internal enablement materials
- Demonstrate thought leadership through internal presentations, customer workshops, and technical demonstrations
- Collaborate with other consulting practices to deliver multi-domain solutions
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or CI/CD environments
- Strong experience designing and implementing build and deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and platform tooling
- 4+ years experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid/on-premise environments
- 3+ years experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working with Git-based source control workflows
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and security fundamentals
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for customer-facing engagements
- Ability to travel up to 25–35% as required
- Cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Solutions Architect
- Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKD)
- Experience with HashiCorp tools (Terraform, Vault) or Red Hat Ansible
- Experience integrating platform automation with ITSM/ITOM platforms such as ServiceNow
- Prior experience in customer-facing consulting roles combining pre-sales and delivery
- Familiarity with value stream mapping or DevOps value stream management
