
The Data Center Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical infrastructure systems within data center environments. This includes mechanical, cooling, and supporting infrastructure systems that ensure continuous uptime and operational reliability. This position requires the ability to work in mission-critical environments and travel as needed.

Job Responsibilities (List is not inclusive)
· Perform assigned maintenance, service, and troubleshooting tasks safely in a data center or mission-critical environment.
· Inspect, maintain, and repair critical infrastructure systems including cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, pumps, and supporting mechanical equipment.
· Perform preventative maintenance on data center mechanical and environmental systems to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
· Diagnose and resolve issues related to cooling systems, air distribution, temperature control, and equipment performance.
· Support installation, startup, and commissioning of new mechanical and cooling equipment within data center environments.
· Respond to service calls and perform repairs on critical systems to minimize downtime.
· Provide technical support and guidance to other technicians in the field.
· Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance as required.
· Maintain compliance with safety procedures and operational standards within mission-critical facilities.
· Obtain an NCCER Performance Evaluator credential and support learning and development in the field.
Required Knowledge, skills, and abilities
· Ability to follow and communicate instructions and directions both verbally and in writing.
· Strong understanding of mechanical systems supporting data center operations.
· Experience with inspection, repair, and maintenance of cooling and mechanical infrastructure systems.
· Experience with equipment startup and commissioning in mission-critical environments.
· Working knowledge of cooling systems, airflow management, chilled water systems, and environmental controls.
· Familiarity with service tools, testing devices, and diagnostic equipment used in critical facilities.
· Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and respond effectively in high-pressure environments.
· Strong attention to safety, reliability, and operational procedures.
Education and Experience
· High School Diploma required; Technical school preferred.
· OSHA 10 preferred.
· EPA Certification preferred.
· Valid Driver’s License required.
· Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with mechanical, cooling, or critical infrastructure systems, preferably in data centers or other mission-critical facilities.
