Responsible for shaping financial decisions at the leadership and executive level through rigorous analysis, complex financial modeling, and consultative partnership. Expected to own financial narratives, independently evaluate and validate business cases, and influence outcomes that impact the entire operating margin of the organization. Accountable for challenging assumptions, surfacing risks, and framing tradeoffs, particularly related to administrative expense and enterprise investments. Recognized by business leaders as a trusted advisor and thought partner, capable of leading critical financial conversations and driving alignment between strategy, execution, and financial performance. Plays a critical part in shaping enterprise strategy by ensuring decisions are grounded in data, value creation, and measurable business drivers, enabling leadership to allocate resources effectively and achieve financial and operational goals.
Required:
Job Responsibilities
a. Leads financial planning and analysis with a full operating margin lens, not limited to a single cost center or function. Focus ranges from current year budget and forecast creation to multi-year impact using driver-based and zero-based budget methodologies. Proactively identifies margin risks and opportunities, especially within administrative spending, and brings forward data backed recommendations. Anticipates second and third order impacts of decisions across the enterprise.
b. Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, including decisions through financial modeling scenario planning and performance insights. Leads candid, respectful, and data driven conversations that challenge requests and assumptions when needed. Balances strong partnership with financial discipline and enterprise accountability. Presents confidently to senior leadership and executive teams, crafting clear, executive ready financial narratives that clarify tradeoffs and decisions.
c. Leads the organization’s zero-based and driver-based budgeting approach in close partnership with business leaders. Designs, maintains, and evolves a driver-based budgeting methodology that strengthens transparency, enforces financial discipline, and aligns resource allocation to enterprise priorities.
d. Develops and maintains a rolling three-year financial outlook that supports enterprise
decision making and long-term value creation. Partners with leaders to ensure multiyear plans are tightly aligned with organizational strategy, capital priorities, and the highest value initiatives.
e. Partners with leaders to define success metrics and measure realized value versus expected value. Identifies gaps between planned and actual outcomes and recommends corrective actions. Embeds financial accountability into ongoing performance management.
f. Independently performs advanced analysis, financial modeling, and scenario analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and emerging business needs. Rigorously validates business case assumptions, with heightened scrutiny on administrative expense, savings assumptions, timing, sustainability, and risk. Translates complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
g. Advances enterprise financial acumen by educating business partners on key financial drivers, metrics, and tradeoffs. Develops and maintains executive ready reports, interfaces, and analytical tools within the enterprise financial planning system (Adaptive or comparable platforms). Applies strong accounting knowledge to assess and clearly communicate impacts to forecasts, budgets, and long-range plans, enabling leaders to independently access insights and improve decision quality. Continuously improves FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies through supporting the evolution of more automated, scalable, and insight-driven reporting.
