LMS Platform Specialist Educational Technology - Temporary - 250358: N/A Description
The Educational Technology and Platform Administrator is a temporary role is 12–18 month individual contributor role providing advanced technical expertise and system‑level oversight for the IEEE Learning Network (ILN, IEEE’s learning management system). Serves as a subject matter expert for complex troubleshooting, platform optimization, integrations, and process improvement. This role does not involve instructional design or content creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and serve as escalation point for complex issues
- Oversee platform integrations, enhancements, customizations, and maintenance
- Coordinate requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, testing, and post‑release validation
- Analyze usage data to identify trends, insights, and improvement opportunities
- Lead UAT efforts, including script creation and validation coordination
- Design and document system configurations to support business needs
- Lead onboarding and implementation for new ILN partners
- Maintain catalog records aligned with MARC standards
- Research industry trends and recommend improvements to support and operations
- Provide backup support to the Administrator
- Contribute to additional Educational Activities projects as assigned
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Required experience with LMS administration, educational technology, or technical support
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Strong understanding of platform workflows, integrations, and system interactions
- Experience translating business needs into technical requirements
- Skilled in UAT script writing and execution
- Strong analytical, documentation, and data validation communication abilities

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, strict attention to detail and excellent problem solver
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience with system integrations, SCORM standards, MARC records/KBART files metadata, HTML/CSS, and/or JIRA is a plus
