Position Purpose:

Key Responsibilities
- Leads the Compensation & Benefits program functions, managing day-to-day operations, staff, and budgets to ensure effective delivery of all compensation, benefits, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Designs and implements a comprehensive total rewards strategy, developing competitive compensation structures (covering broad-based and executive base salary and incentive/bonus plans) aligned with KHI’s business objectives and budget guidelines.
- Oversees employee benefits and wellness programs with a mandate to think beyond traditional plan renewals; drives meaningful redesign of medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, retirement, and wellness offerings to improve affordability, access, and value for employees while controlling organization costs.
- Maintains strong vendor relationships for high-quality, cost-efficient service delivery.
- Partners with Finance to ensure financial integrity of compensation and incentive programs, maintain appropriate controls, and evaluate cost implications to uphold budgetary compliance and sustainability.
- Advises managers and HR on compensation matters, providing expert guidance on promotions, internal transfers, and new hire offers, and managing regular market benchmarking to ensure pay decisions are fair, internally equitable, and externally competitive.
- Collaborates with senior leadership on high-level compensation decisions, preparing and presenting key compensation proposals to the Compensation Committee and guiding executives through complex or sensitive pay issues to align decisions with organizational strategy.
- Leads key HR projects and continuous improvement efforts, providing structure, methodologies (e.g., Lean practices), and oversight for HR operational initiatives to streamline processes, enhance service quality, and improve overall efficiency in Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Programs.
- Designs and manages employee recognition programs, implementing reward and recognition initiatives that promote employee engagement and foster a strong culture of appreciation and high performance.
- Ensures compliance and data integrity, maintaining adherence to relevant compensation, benefits, and employment laws and regulations, while overseeing accurate records across all areas of responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree in business or HR administration.
Experience:
- Two (2) years’ experience in benefits administration.
- Five (5) years’ experience in management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare industry standards, policies, and practices, including the ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations impacting compensation and benefits programs.
- A hands‑on leader with a strong track record of mentoring and developing a high‑performing team, supported by excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience designing, administering, and managing total rewards programs with an understanding of employee communication, accounting, tax, and legal considerations.
- Ability to analyze complex data, assess organizational risk, and develop clear, actionable recommendations, including preparing/presenting to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment, applying sound judgment and a practical, business‑oriented approach.
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with leaders across the organization, fostering collaboration and shared accountability to achieve objectives.
Preferences
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or HR Administration
Experience:
- Five (5) years’ experience in benefits administration.
- Ten (10) years’ experience in management.
- Experience with current Human Resources Information System and time keeping system.
Certification: SHRM or HRCI certification(s).
License: N/A
