Direct Report: Logistics Manager
Location: Winnipeg Head Office (on-site)
Days of work: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
The Weekend Logistics Coordinator supports the shipping operations of Price Industries HVAC business units in Winnipeg. This role provides operational coverage for weekend logistics activities across the North, East, and West plants, ensuring shipments are properly prepared, scheduled, and documented.
Working closely with shipping and loading teams, carriers, and internal departments, the coordinator helps facilitate order processing, coordinate trailer pickups and switches, and address transportation issues that may arise during weekend operations. This role helps maintain continuity of logistics operations outside of regular weekday hours and ensures customer delivery commitments and shipping schedules are met.
Responsibilities
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate shipments to meet customer and business requirements
• Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely pickup and delivery
• Monitor, track, and trace shipments, proactively resolving service issues or delays
• Maintain accurate shipment records, documentation, and data within ERP and logistics systems
• Prepare and distribute transportation reports and performance metrics
• Collaborate with operations, customer service, and finance teams to support logistics requirements
• Coordinate weekend trailer pickups, switches, and loading activities across multiple plants
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and enhance service performance
The Ideal Candidate for this Position Will Have
• Strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations, including LTL and TL shipments
• Experience coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, and resolving transportation or service issues
• Familiarity with shipping documentation, customs requirements, and trade compliance processes
• Proficiency with ERP systems and transportation or logistics management software
• Knowledge of freight rating, scheduling practices, and carrier service standards
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate shipment records and reporting
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with carriers and internal teams
• A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast paced environment
• A focus on continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and reliable service execution
Education
• Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Professional certifications such as CITT, SCMP, or APICS/ASCM are considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of education and practical logistics or transportation experience will also be considered
