Key Responsibilities
Labor Code Implementation
- Drive end-to-end project planning and execution for compliance with India’s new labor codes (Wages, Social Security, Industrial Relations, Occupational Safety).
- Conduct impact analysis on existing HR policies, payroll structures, benefits, and ER frameworks.
- Liaise with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to statutory requirements and timelines.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for phased implementation, including risk mitigation strategies.
Policy Formulation & Governance
- Review and update HR policies impacted by labor code changes (leave, working hours, wages, gratuity, PF, bonus, etc.).
- Ensure alignment with organizational philosophy while meeting regulatory standards.
- Prepare communication materials and FAQs for employees and managers.
Rewards, Payroll & System Changes
- Partner with Compensation & Benefits team to redesign salary structures, allowances, and benefits as per new wage definitions.
- Work closely with Payroll and HRIS teams to update systems, processes, and compliance reporting.
- Validate payroll simulations and ensure error-free execution during transition.
- Manage system configuration changes, testing, and deployment in collaboration with IT and vendors.
Change Management & Employee Relations
- Design and execute large-scale change management plans, including stakeholder engagement, training, and communication campaigns.
- Collaborate with ER team to manage employee queries and grievances related to labor code changes.
- Monitor adoption and address resistance through proactive interventions.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with internal teams (HRBPs, Finance, Legal, IT) and external partners (consultants, auditors, government bodies).
- Facilitate governance forums and provide regular status updates to leadership.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of project risks/issues.
Qualifications
Required:
- 8–12 years of HR experience with strong exposure to policy formulation, rewards, payroll, and employee relations.
- Proven experience managing system changes (HRIS/payroll) and large-scale change management initiatives.
- Strong understanding of India labor laws and upcoming labor codes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred:
- PMP or similar project management certification.
- Experience in HR technology implementation (Workday)
- Exposure to large scale change management initiatives
