Customer Application Engineer

Constellium is a global leader in aluminum aerospace technology, specializing in high-performance aluminum products for various industries. They are seeking a Customer Application Engineer to bridge the gap between R&D, production, and customer needs by translating client requirements into actionable product developments.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with customers to understand their technical needs, provide adequate data, and offer tailored solutions to address their challenges
• Collaborate with the R&D team to design, develop, and test new products ensuring alignment with industry standards and customer requirements
• Act as the primary technical point of contact between customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of expectations
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our product portfolio, network with potential customers, and stay updated on market trends
• Develop and deliver compelling presentations, technical documentation, and marketing materials to showcase our products’ capabilities
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction and successful product implementation

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• flexibility to travel to customers 50%+ of the time to maintain customer engagement and facilitate technical discussions
• Advanced degree in a metals-related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, preferably in application engineering or product development within the metals industry
• proven track record of working with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and sales
• Experience in customer prospecting, market research, or business development within the materials sector
• candidates who are local to or willing to relocate to the central part of the U.S. near a major airport
