About this role
Tata Technologies is seeking a highly capable Project Manager with expertise in Manufacturing IT and hands-on proficiency in Power BI. This role will lead digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing plants and supply chain operations, requiring strong project management skills and the ability to convert operational data into actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Lead IT and digital manufacturing projects across multiple plants, ensuring delivery within timeline, scope, and budget
- Manage implementation or enhancement of systems such as ERP, MES, QMS, PLM, and shop-floor automation technologies
- Drive project governance using Agile or Waterfall methodology based on project needs
- Develop project charters, resource plans, risk logs, and communication frameworks
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Maintenance, and IT Infrastructure
- Manage vendor interactions, technical partners, and system integrators for smooth project execution
- Lead business requirement gathering from manufacturing, supply chain, warehouse, and procurement stakeholders
- Analyze as-is vs. to-be processes within areas like: Production planning & scheduling, Quality management, Shop-floor data capture & traceability
- Create functional specifications for customizations, integrations, and system enhancements
- Support configuration, UAT planning, testing, and user training in manufacturing IT systems
- Identify automation, process optimization opportunities
- Develop highly intuitive Power BI dashboards for plant performance, production KPIs, supply chain analytics, and productivity metrics
- Build data models integrating data from ERP, MES, SCADA, IoT sensors, and other systems
- Develop complex DAX measures for manufacturing KPIs (e.g., OEE, machine utilization, yield, takt time, demand forecasting)
- Ensure data accuracy, lineage, governance, and security compliance
- Collaborate with data engineers on data pipelines, cleansed models, and data warehouse structures
- Engage with Plant Heads, Supply Chain Managers, IT Leadership, and operational teams
- Present project progress, KPIs, dashboards, and recommendations to senior management
- Maintain strong vendor and partner relationships to ensure reliable solution delivery
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Manufacturing, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in IT Project Management within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and supply chain operations
- Hands-on Power BI experience (data modeling, DAX, dashboard development)
- Experience working with ERP/MES modules relevant to manufacturing
- Ability to translate plant-floor data into business insights
- Exposure to SAP, Manufacturing, or any ERP widely used in manufacturing
- Familiarity with IoT platforms, historian databases, and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of SQL or ETL tools for data transformation
- Certifications like PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Scrum Master
- Strong analytical, communication, and change management skills
