Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for working cross functionally and maintaining the highest quality of all manufactured and distributed products across our three concrete Masonry and Hardscape plants in Texas.
Job Location
- This role is on-site and is based at our concrete block manufacturing facility in Waco, TX.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and qualify any new raw material types and sources utilizing ASTM and company standards through the entire manufacturing process and finish good testing
- Perform mix audits at the site level and act as the caretaker of all the company bills of material
- Manage the regional lab, oversee all facility labs and support the Lab Techs and QC Techs at all site
- Support manufacturing teams on how to safely produce the highest quality products and train on testing and adjusting quality while manufacturing
- Become an authority on the manufacturing process to identify continuous improvement opportunities to reduce the number of defects, improve overall product quality and reduce costs through product testing
- Conduct investigations on manufacturing processes, variances and product quality failures while implementing corrective action
- Monitor, schedule and report daily, weekly and quarterly internal and third-party testing of all manufactured products to the senior staff and Regional Technical Director
- Support sales staff with technical documentation, training, customer concerns and site visits when necessary
- Work safely in both indoor and outdoor industrial manufacturing environments, following all company safety protocols while wearing required PPE
- Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
- 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of ASTM requirements used in testing concrete, mortars, block and pavers
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Highly organized, approachable, flexible and able to respond to changes in a dynamic environment
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft programs
- Hands on approach with a mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods of time
- Up to 25% travel
