Northern Iron & Machine is looking for a Pattern Maker Technician to join our Pattern Shop supporting foundry operations.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn from experienced team members while working on individual and team projects to design, build, and maintain tooling for foundry castings.

What are the hours and pay?- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Pay: $30 – $37 per hour, depending on experience
What is the job?Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:- Operate various machinery, equipment, and hand tools
- Design, build, and maintain tooling for foundry castings
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to produce precision tooling
- Work with foam, wood, and/or urethane to create prototypes or single-use castings
- Support foundry operations through an understanding of the foundry process
- Follow established processes and standard work instructions
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the pattern shop and foundry
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to read basic blueprints and technical diagrams
- Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–5 years of experience in woodworking, prototype design, machining, 3D modeling, programming, or pattern making preferred
