General Position Summary and Purpose:
The Commercial Loan Credit Analyst works directly with Commercial Lenders to collaboratively assess the credit worthiness of new and/or existing commercial borrowers. The primary responsibility is to generate commercial loan proposals with sufficient information to enable credit approving parties to make informed lending decisions. Preparation of loan proposals requires spreading financial statements, analyzing industry and economic conditions, preparing financial analysis narratives, completing cash flow analysis and performing credit investigations to assess the strengths, weaknesses and risks involved with extending credit to commercial borrowers. Managing and prioritizing various assignments at one time is required. The Commercial Loan Credit Analyst has an understanding of credit policies and procedures and provides administrative support to Commercial Lenders as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Spreads, reviews and analyzes financial statements, performs cash flow, collateral and risk analysis and makes risk rating recommendations.
Prepares commercial loan proposals, renewals, and annual reviews.
Completes stress testing, break-even analysis, loan covenant compliance for current and prospective clients.
Analyzes account receivables, inventory and accounts payable reports to determine availability of funds for borrowing base clients.
Establishes and maintains digital credit files and ensures the security and confidentiality of customer records.
Occasionally accompanies commercial lenders on business calls.
Assists with special projects as assigned and provides administrative support to Commercial Lenders.
Orders flood evaluations and environmental assessment reports; elevates findings to appropriate Loan Officers, Senior Credit Analyst, VP Credit Administration SVP of Commercial Lending, and/ or Chief Lending Officer.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training.
Other Duties as assigned by the manager or designated representative.
Will be trained to complete reviews of commercial appraisals.

Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Associate’s degree with a focus in finance, accounting, or business preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
Required Experience/Required Knowledge:
Understanding of proper loan structuring and typical underwriting requirements specific to C&I and Commercial Real Estate loan requests
Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrates analytical, decision-making, and effective problem solving skills.
Demonstrates effective business writing and professional communication skills.
Must be competent in the use of personal computer systems, internet applications, electronic mail, and various Windows based software applications including, but not limited to, banking applications, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe.
Proven success in a fast paced analytical environment requiring accuracy, timeliness, team work, and excellent communication skills.
Exercise an understanding of the commercial loan transaction, including credit approval, collateral decisions and loan structure.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical effort required; normally seated with the freedom of movement on a regular basis; some lifting of light materials and supplies. Work involves a mixture of walking, sitting, and/or standing. Well-lighted and ventilated office environment, which are generally pleasant and comfortable. Minimal exposure to injury or other hazards with moderate level of noise.
