StFX is a top ranking Canadian university and we are seeking a permanent full time employee to work as part of the team at the Campus Post Office and the STFX Store in a 50/50 split position. Under management direction and operating in conjunction with the Postal Supervisor and STFX Store staff, the person in this position will share responsibilities in both areas. The time will be approximately 50% at each location, but may vary on a daily or weekly basis depending on the needs of each location at any given time.

Campus Post Office responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Sorting incoming external and internal mail
• Processing outgoing mail and parcels with appropriate postage
• Tagging ‘personal’ student mail and contacting said students via email for pick-up of same
• Assisting students in getting their assigned keys to access their post office boxes
• Assisting customers at the wicket including selling stamps and other postage via cash or “on account” payments
• Assisting with balancing Post Office invoices with billing to internal accounts

STFX Store responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assisting store staff by packing and processing outgoing shipments
• Assisting store staff by counting and tagging incoming merchandise shipments
• Processing customer payments
• Providing service support for the various store divisions as requested which may include stocking shelves with textbooks and other merchandise
• Updating spreadsheets, databases, HTML and word documents

Responsibilities related to both areas may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Answering phone and email inquiries and / or directing inquiries to appropriate personnel
• Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment
• Providing feedback to management arising via customer interaction

 Qualifications

• Excellent demonstrated customer service skills
• Basic computer knowledge - Windows 10, email, the ability to learn new software with ease
• Must be able to work extended hours without sitting and able to lift 25-50lb
• Commitment to learn and comply with both University Post Office and Canada Post policies
• Experience with POS software and specifically with Booklog would be an asset
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work well with others in a cooperative, and often fast-paced, environment
• Priority will be given to those with previous Post Office experience
