Electric Power Engineers is focused on designing the grid of the future. The Power Systems Engineer Staff III will conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies and perform detailed bulk power system studies using various software, while ensuring compliance with reliability standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT
- Conduct IBR modeling: steady state, short circuit and dynamic
- Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating, protection coordination, ride through assessment
- Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies
- Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed
- Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives
- Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manager as needed
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Requirements:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems
- 3 - 4 years of experience as a power systems engineer
- Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
- Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT
- Experience with automating/programing in Python
