The Healthcare Analytics & Business Performance Analyst serves as a strategic analytics partner, transforming clinical, financial, and operational data into actionable insights to drive performance improvement and strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with physicians, surgeons, and operational leaders to analyze productivity, access, utilization, quality, and financial performance
- Translate business questions into clearly defined metrics and reporting requirements
- Facilitate performance reviews and support leaders in identifying root causes and actionable improvement strategies
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting
- Conduct feasibility analyses for new programs, service line expansions, and strategic initiatives
- Build multi-year financial/staffing pro formas including ROI, NPV, IRR, and break-even analyses
- Analyze reimbursement trends, payer mix, and cost structures
- Prepare staffing ratio models and tools for retrospective and planning purposes for physician practice workforce
- Extract and analyze data from EHR systems (EPIC preferred), financial systems, and operational databases
- Develop dashboards in Power BI and perform advanced analysis using SQL and Excel
- Validate data accuracy and ensure transparency of metric definitions and calculations
- Support benchmarking and standardized measurement systems
- Serve as liaison between operational leaders and data engineering teams to ensure accurate and aligned reporting
- Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and performance review processes
- Promote data literacy and a culture of informed decision-making
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, Business, Statistics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, financial analysis, or business performance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and Power BI
- Experience working with EPIC or similar EHR systems
- Strong financial and workforce modeling and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence diverse stakeholders
- Experience in physician enterprise or multi-site healthcare environments
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models and cost accounting
- Experience collaborating with enterprise data engineering teams
