Director of People & Operations

Counsel Health is seeking a founding Director of People & Operations to build their human resources and operational infrastructure from the ground up. This pivotal role involves designing long-term people strategies, managing compliance frameworks, and ensuring a high-quality employee experience as the company scales.

Responsibilities:

• Own and run core People Operations activities, including payroll processing, HRIS management, etc
• Serve as a first-line point of contact for employees, handling complex employee situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
• Build, document, and continuously improve People processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and a great employee experience as the company scales
• Partner closely with team leadership to design and execute people programs, including performance processes, manager enablement, and employee experience initiatives
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies, partnering with leadership as needed. Establish all HR policies, handbooks, and compliance protocols for a distributed, multi-state workforce
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and leaders across the company on people-related initiatives
• Partnering closely with Clinician Ops and Talent Leadership to ensure the seamless transition from candidate to employee is flawless, and that onboarding remains optimized
• Audit existing workflows to identify gaps before they become problems; you’ll be the one to say, "We need a system for this," and then go build it
