Counsel Health is seeking a founding Director of People & Operations to build our human resources and internal operational infrastructure from 0 to 1. This role involves designing a long-term people strategy and managing core people operations activities to support the company's growth and compliance needs.
Responsibilities:
- Own and run core People Operations activities, including payroll processing, HRIS management, etc
- Serve as a first-line point of contact for employees, handling complex employee situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
- Build, document, and continuously improve People processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and a great employee experience as the company scales
- Partner closely with team leadership to design and execute people programs, including performance processes, manager enablement, and employee experience initiatives
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies, partnering with leadership as needed. Establish all HR policies, handbooks, and compliance protocols for a distributed, multi-state workforce
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, and leaders across the company on people-related initiatives
- Partnering closely with Clinician Ops and Talent Leadership to ensure the seamless transition from candidate to employee is flawless, and that onboarding remains optimized
- Audit existing workflows to identify gaps before they become problems; you’ll be the one to say, "We need a system for this," and then go build it
