Project Talent Partners is looking for a Senior Electrical Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical scopes on large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects. The role involves overseeing project performance, managing client and trade partner coordination, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage electrical scopes for ground-up and retrofit data center projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost controls
- Oversee procurement of major electrical equipment including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, bus duct, and distribution gear
- Lead project teams including project engineers, assistant PMs, superintendents, and foremen
- Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and design teams on electrical scope
- Coordinate closely with mechanical, controls, and commissioning teams to support integrated delivery
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure alignment with project milestones and quality standards
- Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and executive updates
- Maintain responsibility for project financial performance, including forecasting, change management, and margin protection
- Review and negotiate change orders, subcontract agreements, and purchase orders
- Identify and mitigate project risks related to schedule acceleration, long-lead equipment, and system complexity
- Enforce strict adherence to safety policies, QA/QC standards, and project specifications
- Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and data center-specific standards
- Support commissioning activities including testing, energization, and turnover documentation
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in electrical project management within commercial or industrial construction
- Proven experience delivering data center or mission-critical electrical projects
- Strong understanding of power distribution systems, critical infrastructure, and electrical commissioning
- Experience working for an electrical contractor (not solely GC or owner-side)
- Proficiency with project management software and scheduling tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Large-scale data center, hyperscale, or colocation projects
- Experience managing fast-track or phased construction schedules
- Background working in the Southeast market, particularly Atlanta
