We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting functions for a growing multi-entity hospitality business. This role is responsible for managing daily financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting payroll and tax functions, and partnering with leadership to maintain strong financial performance.
The Controller will work closely with ownership and management to support financial transparency, operational efficiency, and continued business growth.
Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.
Position Overview
The Controller manages the full accounting cycle across multiple entities, including financial reporting, payroll processing, reconciliations, and compliance reporting. This position also supports licensing, tax compliance, and operational improvements by identifying process efficiencies and technology solutions.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential financial information in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
• Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting activities across multiple company entities
• Prepare quarterly financial reports and consumer sales reporting
• Produce Profit & Loss statements and financial performance reports
• Perform bank reconciliations and track store deposits
• Manage POS system reporting and financial data accuracy
• Coordinate with external accountants and advisors as needed
Payroll & Tax Administration
• Process payroll for all company entities
• Prepare and file required tax documentation including 1095, 1094, and 1099 forms
• Support financial forecasting and budget estimates
Licensing & Compliance
• Assist with regulatory licensing requirements including lottery, health, and liquor licensing
• Manage property tax and real estate tax filings
• Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements
Operations & Leadership Support
• Maintain organized and efficient office financial operations
• Support hiring and termination processes for office staff when needed
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, technology, and accounting processes
• Communicate proactively with leadership on financial performance and operational needs
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online
• Payroll processing experience
• Knowledge of financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax documentation
• Experience working with POS systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with financial information
