At Valor Oil, we’re looking for a Store Manager to lead our HOP Shops team. Location: Verona, KY area
Pay: $45k - $49k annual salary (plus bonuses)
Responsibilities:
· Coach and develop team members for success, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
· Establish and supervise work schedules, manage time-off requests, and handle personnel conflicts as needed.
· Oversee daily store activities, ensuring smooth operations, including inventory control, financial performance, and customer service.
· Implement store policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain a clean, well-organized, and efficient store.
· Set sales and profit goals for the store, manage cash handling, and investigate cash variances and inventory discrepancies.
· Prepare and review financial reports and collaborate with the District Manager to review store performance.
· Ensure expenses are within budget, including payroll, inventory, and store maintenance costs.
· Work with vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality products, and service agreements.
· Verify product deliveries, check-in procedures, and ensure all billing invoices are accurate.
· Create a positive shopping experience for customers by maintaining a clean, friendly, and welcoming store environment.
· Handle customer complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
· Implement and oversee safety protocols to protect team members, customers, and company property.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct safety audits, and take corrective actions when necessary.
· Ensure the store is clean, well-lit, and properly stocked, and that all equipment and fixtures are in good working condition.
· Prevent losses due to spoilage, damage, theft, and poor housekeeping practices.
· Lead ongoing training and development to ensure all team members are proficient in operational procedures, customer service, and safety protocols.
· Manage employee performance and conduct coaching or disciplinary actions as needed.
Requirements
· Retail management experience is highly preferred.
· Business degree or relevant background preferred; high school diploma required.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Basic knowledge of accounting principles is a plus.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· Ability to perform manual labor when necessary.
· Positive, customer-focused attitude with the ability to lead a team.
